Miss Mal was so excited to start school and wanted to wear her favorite new school shirt weeks before school would start. So when it finally came time to pick out her outfit for the big first day she knew exactly what she wanted. The flower shirt, the new sparkly jeans and sparkly silver shoes and accessorized with a tacky headband (removed for at least one picture.) Well, she laid it out on the floor as if she was laying there and went to bed but couldn't fall asleep until 11 pm because she was so excited. So when she woke up and put on the anticipated outfit she had a complete melt down!!? She said the jeans wouldn't stay up and the shoes hurt her heels and so we had to start all over with a different pair of old saggy jeans and some funny socks with worn out dora shoes that weren't really to be worn where we'd see people we might ever see again- yep ugly. But she had a big grin on her face again and was confident about her choice of clothing. So I am very interested to see if the new clothes will fit better in a couple weeks and in what combination she'll decide to wear them. Oh, the tale of a kindergartener who's so concerned with clothing!
