Catching Up on Christmas

Christmas was so fun this year. The girls are getting big enough to grasp the concept that Christmas isn't really about them and their toys but about Christ. Kaylee and Mal loved hearing nightly stories about giving and helping- (we left Santa out of Christmas quite a bit and they seemed just fine.) One night I told them the story about when President Monson was a boy and how he learned to share a Christmas time- when a neighbor boy didn't get very much and that 'little Tommy' gave part of his train set to his friend so that he would have more train cars. Kaylee took this story to heart and wanted to share her Christmas toys with "somebody that doesn't have any".

Malorie with facinated by baby Jesus -mostly the baby part. Our little manger with baby Jesus on it was always put in a visable place and the Christ child always was plenty warm with a variety of blankets throughout each day. It was so fun to see their simple love and understanding of the Savior. I loved watching their learning take place and there were quite a few prayers on behalf of baby Jesus too. How sweet is childhood!

Carson loved Christmas too. His favorites were breaking ornaments and dumping the straw out of the manger. But- he did make the cutest little shepard during our family nativity narration. (I hope to get my pics working soon!)
