How is it that after an intense day of motherhood a simple smile or a look of adoring affection can melt away the stress? It's those moments that I live for and that make me want to be better at nurturing my children and less ridgid with my time, my patience or showing love towards them and Steve.
These pictures bring out a grin- even on the worst of days. First, that the girls put one of their crowns on his head (notice a smile on his face? No? Hmmm). Second, Carson's first real attempt at crawling and his face shows the level of concentration required to make those legs work. He still crawls with one knee that never touches the ground, it's so funny! Third, his happy smile that always gives me those "melting butterflies". Does that phrase make any sense? It's that overwhelming feeling of love that starts in my stomach and spreads through the rest of me. I love having a son, or often times two.
